several changes to the site today

We've released several changes to the website this morning:

  1. Easy to see who has joined a project or community space
The What's New in... section (at the bottom of the welcome page) of each Project/Community space now shows details of new users
  2. RSS feeds for the Resource Centre
We now have RSS feeds for each of the Topics and Disciplines in our Resource Centre. RSS feeds are a great way to easily keep up to date with new material. Click here to find out more about how to use them.
  3. User pictures/avatars
The picture/avatar that you load on your profile page (click on your name at top-right to access) now shows next to your posts, so go ahead and add a picture!
  4. Comments allowed on Ako Aotearoa content
You can now make comments on content in the Ako Aotearoa section of the site (including these blogs), so go ahead and let us know what you think. NB - comments will be moderated, so there will be a delay before they appear. If a comment is declined, you'll be given a reason why. To add a comment, click on 'Add new comment' at the bottom of the page.
  5. Un-used sections greyed-out in project and community spaces
In each project/community space, sections that are currently not being used are greyed-out in the header. This should prevent users from pointlessly going to sections that arent' being used. As soon as any content is created for a section, it is no longer greyed-out.
  6. RSS feeds easier to find
We've made the RSS feed icons much bigger and placed them more prominently in each in project/community space
  7. Adding Files
Until now it wasn't obvious how to add a File. There is now a link to create Files in the right-hand column along with all the other content types.

Now that comments are allowed, please let me what you think about these changes.

Justin
