Ako Aotearoa farewells our Director, Dr Peter Coolbear

Last night Ako Aotearoa chair, Professor Bryan Gould hosted a function to farewell our Director, Dr Peter Coolbear.  After four years of steering the organisation in its mission to support and enhance educational outcomes for all learners, Dr Coolbear has accepted a position at the Tertiary Education Commission as a chief advisor for the institutes of technology and polytechnic sector.

We wish him the very best in his new position.  He will be sorely missed by staff from national office and the regional hubs alike.  Photographs from the evening are below.

Dr Sue Walbran and Professor Tom Prebble are already working in their new positions as interim directors.  Tom will focus on the strategic aspects of our work going forward, while Sue will be the director of operations.

Dr Coolbear's farewell message was released in our latest issue of the Ako Aotearoa Alert newsletter this week.  read more>>
