Individual/Group Good Practice Publication Grants

Up to $5,000 is available to support the development of pubilcations about individual practices undertaken by a practitioner or project team, that have been shown to benefit learners.

Up to 20 grants are available during 2011.

What are the grants?

The grants will support the development of either:

  • a paper in either English or Te Reo Māori – preferably with some digital photographs (2000 words long, up to $3k) on the practice, or
  • a digital media presentation (10 minutes long, up to $5k).

Who can apply?

Any individual or group involved in tertiary education is eligible to apply. Applicants can either apply on their own behalf or can nominate others (with nominee permission). See the Ako Aotearoa Good Practice Publication Grants Guidelines 2011 for eligibility criteria.

How to apply?

Applications must be received by Helen Dobson, Ako Aotearoa Business Manager, h.m.dobson@massey.ac.nz no later than Friday 5pm 28th October 2011.

Selection Process and Assessment Criteria

Successful applicants will be selected by Ako Aotearoa National Office staff using the following criteria:

  1. The practice is interesting and creative.
  2. The practice has the potential to influence other tertiary educators.
  3. Where appropriate, the practice will make links with current research and/or literature on the subject.
  4. There is evidence that the practice is making a difference to learners. 

 

Particular weight is given to the fourth criterion. Evidence may be through learner evaluations triangulated against learner achievement, or via independent evaluation or research.
