NZAPEP Regional Focus Group

On Thursday 11th February the New Zealand Association of Private Education Providers hosted members to a forum held in the premises of ETD Learning Centre in Palmerston North.
The 23 attendees were welcomed by the NZAPEP Director Chuck Wareham who briefly spoke about the association and outlined the agenda for the afternoon.
An interesting presentation was made by Kathy Maclaren, the Manager of Accreditations and Approvals from NZQA. Kathy detailed the work programme involved in constructing the New Zealand Qualification Framework and explained the reasons for that initiative. She then went on to familiarise members with the new self-service portal on the NZQA website.
Ian Rowe from Ako Aotearoa followed Kathy with a description of the resources available to tertiary education organisations noting a recent Tertiary Teaching Excellence Award recipient from a PTE in Hamilton.
The informative and worthwhile event concluded with light refreshments and an opportunity to network.
