Largest regional NZAPEP meeting!!
There were 96 people who attended last nights NZAPEP regional meeting at the South Pacific College of Natural Therapies.
James Turner (TEC) presented TEC's view of the world at the present time, and spoke enthusiastically about the Hon Steven Joyce as a hard-working, focussed, minister, engaged about strategic issues in tertiary education.
He reminded education providers that the recession is still here, that there is no new money, and that educators must show that their provision is good value for the money they have. He also reminded us of the Prime Minister's recent speech with a strong focus on completion of qualifications. James concluded with the "funding follows performance" catchphrase and warned that we are already seeing some providers going.
Paul Stone (NZQA) walked the audience through the online change of address process on NZQA's site, and Ako Aotearoa shared some good practice from the Samala Robinson Academy and encouraged private providers to consider their own practice in terms of evidence and creativity.
