Using this community space

The ACEnet community is hosted on the Ako Aotearoa website.  This page explains how to register on the Ako Aotearoa website, join the ACEnet community, and use the community space to the best advantage


Registering on the Ako Aotearoa website and joining ACEnet

Step 1 - To join ACEnet you must first be registered and logged-in on the Ako Aotearoa website.

  1. Click Create New Account. At the minimum you need to enter a Username, Email Address, First Name, Last Name, choose whether or not to 'Show your details', and accept the website's Terms & Conditions. You can choose to include more information about yourself if you wish to (or come back later and do this.
  2. Upon clicking Save you will receive an email which contains a link you need to click on. This will take you to page on the site where you can set your password. You are now registered on the website.

Step 2 - Join ACEnet

  1. Go to www.akoaotearoa.ac.nz/acenet or click on 'Communities' then select 'ACEnet'
  2. Click the Join button. You are now a member of the ACEnet community and can add content, join in discussion forums, etc.
  3. We recommend that you bookmark/save-as-a-favourite the URL to go straight to ACEnet - www.akoaotearoa.ac.nz/acenet

Finding your way around the the ACEnet community

You can always return to the ACEnet homepage by clicking on ACEnet in the 'cookie crumb trail'

As long as you see ACEnet in the blue banner at the top, then you are still in ACEnet. If you don't then you have moved to somewhere else in the Ako Aotearoa website.

You can return to ACEnet by going to Communities and selecting ACEnet.


Keeping up to date with ACEnet

You can receive email alerts for new postings in the ACEnet discussion forum by clicking on the My Membership tab on the ACEnet homepage. You can choose to receive notifications of all postings, or just new topics.

You can subscribe to the RSS feed for ACEnet - click on    on the ACEnet homepage. This feed will provide details of all new pages, links, discussion topics. Click here for more information on using RSS feeds.
