“Turning Vision into Promising Practice”
Who has done what:
Peter Mellow represented the Academy at the Tertiary Education Summit and gave a great presentation “The enduring power of great teaching”. The presentation gave the audience an insight into what makes a great teacher and included clips from his project “The Essence of Teaching”, which can be found at http://akoaotearoa.ac.nz/community/ako-aotearoa-academy-tertiary-teaching-excellence/resources/pages/essence-teaching . Peter described himself as a “learning facilitator” who walks hand in hand with his students. Having seen his presentation, it is not hard to understand why he is such a good teacher; the whole audience was enthralled.
