discuss ePortfolios at eFest Open Day?

Who's going to Teaching & Learning meets eFest conference in Palmerston North at the end of September?
I've put up a suggesion on the eFest Open Day suggested topics page that we could discuss ePortfolios.
Anyone interested? If so, are there specific topics/issues that we could address? Anyone got any ideas for research?

will also be at efest open day
Hi Justin & Kevin,
Yes. Should be at the efest open day although I will not arrive until about 10 am - but better late then never.
I will be interested in discussing the use of eportfolios for ITP staff, for use in appraisals, promotion & link to database of staff resources for both internal & external access. Has anyone had experience with a pilot or implementation of eportfolios for staff?
Catch up end of September, Selena
ePortfolios
Hi Justin,
You can count me in please. We have had a trial run with a few members of staff. I would be happy to talk about our experiences so far and the issue of ownership.
Kind regards,
Kevin

ePortfolios at eFest
Hi Justin,
I won't be there, but in response to your question about research... how about examining the tertiary sector regarding readiness for a shared ePortfolio system? The work done in the school sector (and subsequent discussion) looks promising. "What are the issues, and what is the potential, for an ePortfolio system shared across all TEIs?" would be an interesting avenue of inquiry that may help progress a centrally owned 'ePortfolio for life' for all students participating in the tertiary sector. Perhaps TEIs themselves might be surveyed, and overseas initiatives and proposals examined.
Might be bigger than what you had in mind, but I think the last thing we need is more case studies - unless they tackle the issues of a programme-based rather than course-based ePortfolio.
Cheers,
Mark.
