ePortfolios in VET conference in Melbourne - report
Hi everyone,
Had a busy time in Melbourne last week attending & presenting at the ePortfolios in VET conference in Melbourne.
I have archived notes taken during some of the sessions on my blog http://mportfolios.blogspot.com/
In summary, most of the keynotes were encouraging and promoting the flexibility of eportfolios to help record learners' lifelong journeys.
The many proprietary providers of eportfolio software were offering tools to allow 'templates' and other structures to make eportfolios more easily collect evidence of competencies or learning outcomes.
So depending on the end objective of the eportfolio, there is a continuum of possibilities from 'imposed rubrics and tight specified collection of evidence artifacts' to free for all, build and linke as you go approaches using the large collection of web 2.0/cloud computing sites now available.
No one size fits all model :)
All the best, Selena
