Shar-e-Fest 2011 - preliminary
Dear All,
Once again, from the hinterland depths of the Waikato comes the rumblings of another Shar-e-fest. For those of you who attended the wildly-successful inaugural conference in September last year at which Peter Looms from Denmark enlightened the audience on developments around the world in mobile learning, Wintec is proud to offer the next opportunity to join a growing community of interested practitioners in the field of e-, m-, or u-learning.
Dare I say it, the library world was not noticeably over-represented last year amongst the presenters (certainly, audience ranks were swelled by local librarians), so please regard this as an opportunity to meet others in the field and to make your mark amongst a very friendly gathering. The intention last year was to create a supportive environment in which people could present and discuss and form relationships of interest. From the feedback received, this was intention was certainly met.
So I pass onto you the first call for expressions of interest - and please note below the desire not to clash with the social highlight of the year which has muscled in on "our" month.
Due to the timing of the Rugby World Cup Shar-E-Fest 2011 will now take place in July (11-12). We have confirmed Prof Thom Reeves as the Keynote speaker and are looking forward to meeting you all once again in July.
We have produced a promotional flyer (Link: http://sharefest.crowdvine.com/attachments/0001/6501/Share11.pdf) .
Further updates and the first call for papers will be mailed out soon
John Clayton
