As you will ( hopefully) know, this pilot is nearly at its end and I hope to spend some time in early December collating feedback and producing the final final resource...except it won't be final ever because I hope that we as a group will be able to keep adding to it as we need.  That will mark the formal end of my involvement in the project and I have learned a great deal at this stage about all sorts of things!

A large of Australian Educators with responsibility for Fieldwork have been involved in creating an online course and book for field educaotrs..I have been in touch with them and asked if we could look at what they have come up with.  Theirs has been a  2 year project involving more resources ( people and money) than we have had but hey..we are known for doing things well on a small scale in Aotearoa.  I will post anything they send over..I have alrady shared our draft material with them.

I am interested in your ideas about whether we need an specific course for Field educators here in NZ.  The postgrad papr offered through Auckland I think is quite academic (correct me if I am wrong) and I think we could usefully offer a course more along the lines of the Practice teaching award in the UK - where the Field educators actually complete the modules while they have a student and each one relates to a particular aspect of student learning. The assessment is portfolio based and the material mainly online.

Enough of a rave from me..must go and visit some students  Hope everone's year is going well.

regards
