Kia ora from the Central Hub of Ako Aotearoa. It’s the start of another busy year for us.  May this find you all well and may you have all that you hope for in 2012.

In 2011, we have had eight Regional Hub Funded Projects completed with two additional projects in the final review process, and eight new projects approved by our Central Hub Advisory Group.

Redesigning the design crit

The design crit is a key part of design and architectural education, which involves students publicly presenting their design projects in front of critics, usually from academia and design practice. Working with architecture and design students, this project tested the validity of new types of design crits with the aim of improving learner outcomes.

This report, the second from research undertaken by a team from Workforce Development, reveals practices consistently demonstrated by tutors who have ongoing success in delivering courses to Māori learners.
