Adding value to the tertiary sector and Aotearoa New Zealand
Measuring the impact of what we do is critical for us, our funder and the sector to understand how we make a difference towards our vision – the best possible educational outcomes for all learners. Our Impact Evaluation Framework, developed in 2011 and implemented across our various streams of work since 2012, has helped us to build a clear picture of what we do well, and the gaps and opportunities that will help to shape our future work.
Our newest publication, Building capability and connection – how Ako Aotearoa is adding value to the tertiary sector in Aotearoa New Zealand, was released on 9 November as part of our birthday celebrations. It brings together evaluative analysis and stories of impact across our major streams of work – strategic events, professional learning and development, project funding/co-funding and sector leadership.
The Timeline on pages 2&3 reminds us of the significant milestones achieved across our ten years of being New Zealand’s national centre for tertiary teaching excellence. We acknowledge and thank all the individuals, teams and organisations we have collaborated with over that time.
While the majority of this publication maps out what we have done, and where we have been, Section 7 (pages 35-37) looks to the future. To be clear, our vision has not changed – we will always strive for the best educational outcomes for all learners. Our way of supporting that vision is evolving, however, and we are excited about the future.
Guided by our strengthened core values, we are building new initiatives and plans for the next five years (see page 37 of the report).
