Reiko Itoh - teaching and learning case study - podcasting for teaching foreign language
Grammar, practice, and the mechanics of language dominate the content of foreign language classes, leaving little-to-no time for students to learn about related cultural aspects. Facing this problem Reiko Itoh created weekly podcasts which students could download to supplement their class time. Generating over 4,000 hits over the semester, the technology and the podcast design appears to have met her students’ interests and learning needs.
