Alert goes online
Ako Aotearoa has moved its regular newsletter – Ako Aotearoa Alert – online as a vital part of the new strategy to communicate in a more efficient and timely way with the growing number of people we work with across the tertiary sector.
Existing readers received the first issue of Alert online this week and we encourage anyone involved with tertiary education to subscribe. Details of how to do this are at the bottom of this page.
The strategy represents both a response to reader feedback and our commitment to share information and news about our work as promptly as possible. While we view the move to an online newsletter as a small contribution towards saving a few trees, it also fits with our business model, which will also see some changes over the next few months.
Alert online uses a ‘highlights’ format, which is designed to keep readers abreast of our activities in a more timely, easy to access and time-effective way. All items in the newsletter link to more in-depth articles and information on our website. Regular features include information on our most recent research-based resources, upcoming events, and updates on funding and other news. View the first issue.
Alert online joins the Website Bulletin and a biannual print publication in this new strategy. The monthly Website Bulletin – an update on the latest new content and resources on the Ako Aotearoa website – is delivered via email to all registered users on the site. It is in its third year of publication and has proved to be consistently well utilised.
Our print newsletter, Ako Aotearoa Alert is not disappearing altogether. As mentioned above, we plan to produce this biannually, with in-depth features on major Ako Aotearoa projects, and other initiatives to support the enhancement of teaching and learning in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
We very much hope you enjoy receiving news from Ako Aotearoa in this new format, which will be supplemented by regular Twitter feeds if you wish to subscribe.
We welcome your feedback about these changes and encourage you to forward your comments by email.
