This project examined the ICT skills desired in hospitality graduates. It sought to use this information to inform practice at one New Zealand hospitality training provider, in order that their graduates could develop these skills and have a competitive advantage in their post-study employment prospects.
Mixed methods were used to gather data for this research, with data collected by way of questionnaires, focus groups and interviews. The participants were key employers of the graduates of the organisation's hospitality programme, or lecturers working at the organisation. In order to contextualise these skills, the research also compared the computing paper being offered by the organisation, and the computing paper which is offered as part of the New Zealand Diploma of Business.
