On the Relationship Between Extraversion Introversion and Depth of Vocabulary Knowledge
To report on a small scale study which investigated how extraversion-introversion is related to learners' depth of vocabulary knowledge.
Forty learners of English in New Zealand were divided into extrovert and introvert groups based on the scores of the Eysenck personality inventory, and took two tests which test depth of vocabulary knowledge, the Vocabulary Association Test (VAT) and the Grammatical Knowledge Test (GKT). In addition, the Strategy Inventory for Vocabulary Learning (SIVL) was administered in order to explore the learners' use of various vocabulary learning strategies.
