Speed Reading Courses and their Effect on Reading Authentic Texts: A Preliminary Investigation
This project investigates the impact of speed reading on reading comprehension for foreign language learners. It explores how speed reading might be incorporated into classroom practice in order to develop fluent reading.
The study took place in the context of four university preparation classes at a New Zealand university. Three classes used a speed reading course with their class, whilst the fourth acted as a control group and did not.
