Mentoring learners in work placements
Half-day workshop | $165 + GST
About the workshop
This half-day workshop focuses on a range of strategies that organisations and teachers can use to support their learners on professional placements.
The techniques shared in this workshop focus on developing effective mentoring relationships between learners and supervisors.
This workshop is ideally suited to educators involved in mentoring and/or supporting learners who undertake professional placements. While the research involved participants from the fields of
ECE and counselling, the principles uncovered are relevant to all mentoring/supervisory contexts.
The workshop is based on a series of three resources developed by Dr Marion Sanders and the team as a part of the National Project Fund project Maximising learning dialogue in professional field-based experiences.
About the facilitator
Dr Marion Sanders is from the Bethlehem Tertiary Institute in Tauranga, where one of her responsibilities is the oversight of practicum experiences.
These workshops are part of Ako Aotearoa’s Professional Development Programme – an initiative to bring high quality, evidence-based and affordable professional development to educators and managers across New Zealand’s diverse tertiary education sector.
