Gearing up for semester 1 at Canterbury
We completed our first round of data collecting in November last year at Canterbury, thanks in large part to our wonderful research assistants doing so many observations, and the people from our audiovisual centre, who videotaped every single lecture for us. The earthquake last September made for a hectic and stressful last term. As chance would have it, one of the courses under investigation deals with Geological Hazards and their management. The students sure got a real life example of what they had been learning about in class.
After the semester, we ran a workshop over the Access Grid with our colleagues in Massey about implementing teaching interventions, which went really well. Now, we're gearing up for the first semester of 2011, which is already chomping at the bit. We're getting our instruments, information and consent forms updated and ready to go for the first day of classes.
