Signposts and Symbols: A Study of Māori and Numeracy in a Tertiary Institute
This research examines the gap in terms of outcomes between Māori and Pākehā learners in terms of literacy and numeracy. It examines the various factors which may have contributed to this gap, focussing on the transition to the tertiary environment. As such, the project trialled a module of learning with a group of Māori students beginning their tertiary study at one New Zealand tertiary organisation.
